Uses
Camosunate Adult Tablet is primarily used for treating acute uncomplicated malaria in adults and children weighing 36kg or more. It’s particularly effective against Plasmodium falciparum malaria, including cases resistant to other antimalarial drugs. This medication is not intended for malaria prevention.
Benefits
1.Rapid and effective treatment of acute uncomplicated malaria
2.Combines two potent antimalarial agents for enhanced efficacy
3.Effective against drug-resistant strains of P. falciparum
4.Reduces risk of severe malaria complications
5.Helps prevent malaria spread in endemic areas
6.Contributes to global malaria control and elimination efforts
How It Works
Artesunate, a fast-acting artemisinin derivative, rapidly reduces parasite load by targeting early stages of parasite development. Amodiaquine, a longer-acting drug, eliminates remaining parasites and provides extended protection against recurrence. This combination approach ensures comprehensive treatment and helps prevent drug resistance development.
