Dosage & Administration

Standard Dose: Usually one capsule (20 mg) taken once daily, preferably in the morning.

When to Take: Take it 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast. The proton pumps are most active after fasting, making this the most effective time to take the medication.

How to Swallow: Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not chew, crush, or open the capsules, as the enteric coating protects the active ingredient from being destroyed by stomach acid.

Important Precautions

Symptom Masking: Long-term use of PPIs like Omefast-20 can mask the symptoms of more serious gastric or esophageal conditions. If you experience persistent vomiting, unintended weight loss, or difficulty swallowing, consult a doctor immediately.

Side Effects: Common but minor side effects can include nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, or headaches.Long-term Risks: Prolonged use (over a year) may slightly reduce the absorption of Vitamin B12 and increase the risk of bone fractures.
